Inspired by the sweeping lines of Art Deco architecture, this home stands like a gleaming sentinel proudly overlooking the expansive coastline of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

With a number of cascading terraces built into the side of the hill, the Pepo design team selected sculptured planting with textured layering that would offset the hard surfaces of the building while being resilient enough to withstand the exposed coastal conditions. The Opuntia ‘Burbank Spineless’ and Santolina chamaecypariss were chosen for their distinctive forms while the Carpobrotus glaucescens provides brilliant bursts of pink among the greenery.

With quiet, secluded nooks offering shelter from the exposed open spaces, the family of four and their dog can sit and enjoy the ocean views from their own private paradise.
