Summer is the perfect time to appreciate life’s simple pleasures.
It might be an unexpected waft of lemon scented myrtle and a sprinkling of sea spray. Or perhaps the bright hue of a blossoming vine could catch your eye, accentuated by the seasonal sunlight.
For us at Pepo, we love nothing more than creating beautiful spaces that entice our clients to drift outdoors and linger in their gardens, especially during these warmer months.
We are excited to share some of our latest projects in this newsletter that we have completed in time for summer – each designed to enliven the senses and offer seasonal inspiration.
OUR PROJECTS
Reinvigorating “Villa Nostalgia”
Bursts of green brighten this grand home in Woollahra, accentuated by a rich pallet of lush planting in each of the garden zones.
Every detail was carefully considered during the design process. Sub-tropical plant varieties anchor the gracefully aged villa, while neighbouring properties are screened by large-leafed foliage, without detracting from the distant views.
We selected contrasting sculpted pots in the seating area, planted with a variety of textural forms, including the succulent Furcraea sp and fragrant Gardenia radicans.

A sculptural collaboration in Bondi
Pepo’s unique garden designs directly reflect the individual tastes and styles of our clients – each with their own distinct aesthetic.
In one of our latest projects, Pepo Landscape Architect Josh Arkey has collaborated with sculptor Robbi Pittorino to produce a beautiful series of bespoke steppers, to meet the particular requirements of a client in Bondi.
The process involved creating pieces that harmonised with the refined style of the garden. After determining the form and scale of the steppers, Josh worked closely with Robbi to develop a palette of colours and finishes– based largely on the interior elements within the home – engaging our clients throughout the process.
Careful consideration was given to hierarchy and spatial parameters within the area, to ensure that cohesion was achieved through the design.
Our handcrafted sculptural steppers are completely unique to this garden. Not only do they reflect the lifestyle of our Eastern Suburbs based clients, they enhance and cultivate a meaningful sense of place.
OUR PEOPLE
Meet Anouk
Designing bespoke gardens that entice clients to enjoy the outdoors is a highlight for Pepo’s newest Landscape Designer, Anouk Lee.
Anouk’s latest garden development project in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs has involved transforming an overgrown, outdated space into a thoughtful arrangement of diverse and complementary elements.
The brief includes a softer planting scheme and Anouk has selected a variety of beautiful perennials to enhance movement, contrast and the flow. We can’t wait to share pictures of this Bronte garden when it is complete.

OUR PASSIONS
Hearts 4 Arch
Pepo is proud to support ‘Hearts 4 Arch’ which raises funds to provide mobile ECG monitors for cardiac patients in The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.
‘Hearts 4 Arch’ was established by Mimi Perkin and her parents – Pepo Directors James and Nicola – after their 13 year old son Archie, who was born with heart defects, suffered an unexpected cardiac arrest and passed away, earlier this year
Known for his fun, cheeky and daredevil spirit, Archie loved the beach and adventuring outdoors. By supporting the provision of AliveCor, we hope that other children with similar conditions can enjoy living their lives to the fullest, knowing that their heart can be medically monitored by professionals at anytime, and anywhere.
A range of merchandise is available in time for Christmas, including branded clothing and caps. Every purchase will make a difference and the sale of just three ‘Hearts 4 Arch’ hoodies will buy a much needed AliveCor device.
