With this property looking a little worse for wear, the owner contacted Pepo to embark on a makeover and maintenance program. With the foundation of the garden in place, we looked at areas that were lacking in style and health. The Design Team proposed removing areas of tired lawn with garden beds and Nepean pebble pathways. In some areas this connected external and internal walkways, which were otherwise lost. The garden beds were mass planted with low maintenance plants such as Rhaphiolepis indica, Convolvulus sabatius, Hydrangeas and were given colour with beds of annuals, which create interest throughout the year. Existing plants that were scattered around the garden were carefully moved and consolidated into appropriate beds, which is highlighted when sweeps of planting are in full flower. The Pepo Maintenance Team has given beds the 3 M’s: ‘Manure, Mulch and Maintenance’ on a regular basis bringing them back to life. We are now working on installing rainwater tanks and an irrigation system to support the gardens water needs. This is a transformation we are proud of with the garden attracting more attention than ever from passersby.
